   Sidney Myrick Edwards, 87, died Oct. 27, 2001 at Southampton Memorial Hospital. Mr. Edwards was born in Capron, Virginia. A son of the late Samuel Hurley and Carrie Myrick Edwards. He was also predeceased by his wife, Mable Applewhite Edwards, a sister Mildred Edwards Callaway and two brothers Samuel J. Edwards, Jr. and Emerson R. Edwards. Mr. Edwards was the retired owner of Edwards Furniture Co. in Conway and was a member of Conway Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include a sister-in-law Lessie Tillery Edwards of Franklin, Va. and nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Riverside Cemetery, Courtland, Va.  Wright Funeral Home, Franklin is handling arrangements.
