Born in Sussex County, he was one of 11 children of the late William James and Lula Grizzard Dunn and a retired farmer. He was a member of Hunterdale United Church of Christ and a former dedicated member of Prince George Congregational Christian Church and Antioch Baptist Church in Yale, Va. Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Bernice Blythe Dunn; two daughters, Paige D. Withers and her husband, Bob, of Richmond and Nettie D. Kitchen and her husband, Charles, of Franklin; a son, Charles A. Dunn and his wife, Janet, of Carson; a sister, Ruby D. Williams and a brother, William Horace Dunn, both of Emporia; six grandchildren, Claudia K. Cotton of Suffolk, Chuck Kitchen of Franklin, Joey Dunn of Yale, Donald Dunn of Chesterfield, Stacey D. Archer of Disputanta and Kevin Dunn of Carson; six great-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren. A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Hunterdale United Church of Christ with the Rev.
