Ruth Bailey Dunlow, 76, died Dec. 17, 1998, in Southampton Memorial Hospital. 

Born July 6, 1922, in Como, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Robert Granville and Ida Belle Stephenson Bailey and the widow of James T. ``Jim'' Dunlow. She was a member of Sunbeam Baptist Church. 

Survivors include a daughter, Anne B. Gray and her husband, Walter, of Como, N.C.; a brother, James D. Bailey of Carrsville; two grandsons, Walter Dail Gray Jr. and Trent B. Gray; and three great-grandchildren, Samuel L. Gray, Phoebe L. Gray and Lucy Gray. She was predeceased by a son, Thomas Irvin Burbage. 

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Southampton Memorial Park with the Rev. Kenneth Williams officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence at 31198 Smiths Ferry Road, Franklin, and suggests that memorials be made to Sunbeam Baptist Church, c/o Mr. Marvin Worrell, P.O. Box 25, Como, N.C., 27818. Wright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
