A native of Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late Garland A. Holland and Betty Mary Gardner Holland Duke . She was predeceased by a son, James Calvin Duke . She retired as a cashier clerk for Dutch Market. She was a member of Holland Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for 15 years, secretary of the Women's Missionary Union for 25 years, and church clerk for seven years. She was also a member of Tidewater Ostomy Association. The widow of Calvin C. Duke , she is survived by her stepmother, Elizabeth Cross Holland of Suffolk; daughter and her devoted friend, Joan Duke and Alvin Parker of Franklin; brother, Robert W. Duke III of Suffolk; and grandson, James Clayton Duke of Aspen, Colo. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Holland Baptist Church by the Rev. Clyde Alderman. Burial will be in Holland Cemetery. Friends may join the family today from 7 to 8 p.m. at Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
