Duck FRANKLIN - Margaret Doris Bradshaw Duck, 92, died Feb. 28, 2003 at the Sentara Nursing Center, Currituck, N.C. A lifelong resident of Franklin, she lived at the Village at Wood's Edge prior to moving to Barco, N.C. She was born June 27, 1910 to the late James Exum and Margaret Mary Gilmore Bradshaw. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Galaspa Claude Duck Sr. Her family was her life. She was known by all as a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend. At 15 years of age, she went to work at the Franklin Telephone Co. to help support her family. In her adult years, nothing made her happier than to have someone over on Sunday afternoon for fried chicken, biscuits, and vegetables, raised by Galaspa. She is survived by her daughter, Jean Bittle Gayle and husband, Russell S. Gayle Jr.; her granddaughter, Jean Michelle Bittle Britt and husband, Richard Leigh Britt Jr.; their children, Jackson Leigh Britt and Peyton Michelle Britt; her granddaughter, Mary Margaret Bittle Allen and husband, Norman Edward Allen III and their daughter, Candace Lynne Allen; her son, Galaspa Claude Duck Jr. and wife, Karen Eppling Duck and grandsons, G.C. Duck III and Bryan Joel Duck. She and Galaspa were members of South Quay Baptist Church. As a resident of The Village, she enjoyed fellowship with the Hunterdale Baptist Church family. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Howard Vinson officiating.
