Obituary of Benjamin Carr Duck BENJAMIN CARR DUCK Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Friday, June 9, 2000 Benjamin Carr ``Bennie'' Duck, 72, of Old South Quay Road, died Thursday, June 8, 2000, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Mr. Duck was born in Isle of Wight County, a son of the late Benjamin H. and Hattie Carr Duck. He was a member and deacon of South Quay Baptist Church and a retired self-employed welder and mechanic. He was a member of C.B. Hunt Club. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Aldine Blythe Duck; two sons, David L. Duck and wife, Deborah, of Suffolk, and Glenn A. Duck and his wife, Allison, of Franklin; two sisters, Gladys D. Pope of Carrsville, and Mary Virginia Cutchins of Courtland; four grandchildren, Amanda Leigh Duck, Laura Ann Duck, Lindsay Darden and Megan Elizabeth Duck. Mr. Duck was predeceased by a brother, Linwood Duck. A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Louis Venable and the Rev. William Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in Southampton Memorial Park . The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday and suggests that memorial donations be made to the Nansemond Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1515, Suffolk, VA 23439, or South Quay Baptist Church.
