Drewry BOYKINS - Madison Blount ''Matt'' Drewry, 88, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2001, in a local hospital. A native of Southampton County, he was a son of the late Harry Moss and Eunice Edwards Drewry, and the widower of Lucille Story Drewry. Mr. Drewry was a member of Boykins United Methodist Church. He served more than 20 years on the Southampton County School Board and was a charter member and first president of Boykins Lions Club. He was a retired salesman for Conwood Corp. and a graduate of Oak Ridge Military School. Survivors include a daughter, Betty Matt Pridgen and her husband Kenny of Williamsburg; five grandchildren, Drewry Nash Fennell, Elisabeth F. Pontius, Anne Claud Claywell, Kenneth Lee Pridgen Jr. and Kathryn Alyson Pridgen; five great-grandchildren; a niece, Carroll Paige Cappello; and a nephew, Arthur C. Brett Jr. He was predeceased by a daughter, Brenda Rae Fennell, and a sister, Evelyn D. Brett. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Beechwood Cemetery with the Rev. Kenneth Williams officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at Wright Funeral Home, Boykins.
