Obituary of CLINTON MCKINLEY DREWRY SR Clinton McKinley Drewry Sr., 94, died July 2, 1996, in Southampton Memorial Hospital. Mr. Drewry was a native of Southampton County and was the son of the late Samuel and Evie Bradshaw Drewry. He was the widower of Harriet Joyner Drewry. Mr. Drewry had retired as a carpenter in the maintenance department at Southampton Memorial Hospital. He was a Baptist. He is survived by four daughters, Eunice D. Blythe, Pearl D. Darden and Lois D. Edwards, all of Franklin, Rose D. Whitehead of Smithfield; two sons, C.M. Drewry Jr. of Newport News and Elliott Drewry of Franklin; three half-sisters, Sarah Crowell of Hopewell, Catherine Jenkins of Williamston, N.C., Gwen Best of Courtland; a half-brother, Sam Drewry of Franklin; 18 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two infants and a daughter, Mary D. Lankford, and two grandchildren, Clint Drewry and Laura Drewry. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Wright Funeral Home by the Rev. Dr. Reginald Warren. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today and other times at the home of Earving and Eunice Blythe, 303 Beamon St. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Mrs. Ruth Petty, 116 Southampton Road, Franklin 23851.
