Mrs. Drake was a native of Southampton County and was the widow of Emmet E. Drake, Sr. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mattie Hall Cutchins. Mrs. Drake was a member of Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church. Survivors include one daughter: Gloria D. Beale of Suffolk; two sons: James F. Drake of Richmond and Emmet E. (Eddie) Drake, Jr. of Franklin; three sisters: Mattie Bradshaw of Carrsville, Nell Lee and Dorothy Davis both of Stony Creek; two brothers: Ray Cutchins of Starke, Florida and Stanley Cutchins of Newsoms: 4 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 3 PM Monday in Wright Funeral Home by Rev. Pat Tony. The burial will be at Southampton Memorial Park .
