Born in Franklin, she was a daughter of the late John Goode and Cora Spivey Johnson and the widow of Benjamin F. Dixon, who attended Longwood College, served as the Isle of Wight County clerk of the court of the General District for 37 years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Drew F. Dixon and wife Carole of Carrsville and two grandchildren, Jennifer L. Dixon of Raleigh, N.C. and Lee F. Dixon of Carrsville. She was predeceased by a sister and three brothers. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Beaver Dam Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Richard L. Peerey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
