Obituary of ADLENE DERBY DIXON Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Monday, August 5, 1996 Adlene "Lena" Derby Dixon of the 31000 block of Arber Road, died Aug. 4, 1996, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Mrs. Dixon was a native of Gates County, N.C., and was the daughter of the late Walter and Willie Barham Derby. She was the former owner and operator of Franklin Hairstyling, and was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, James J. Dixon; a daughter, Gail Dixon Whitley; a grandson, Judson Everett Whitley, all of Franklin; three sisters, Ann Edwards of Nags Head, Lula Overby of Suffolk and Dixie Folds of Newport News; and nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Southampton Memorial Park by the Rev. Dr. Reginald Warren. Wright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
