Obituary of Jack Dempsey Denson JACK DEMPSEY DENSON Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Sunday, March 3, 2002 Jack Dempsey Denson, 67, died March 2, 2002, in Suffolk. Born in Maryland and reared in Southampton County, he was a son of Lillie Mae Johnson Denson and the late Enous Eli Denson. He was retired from Union Camp Corp. with 40 years of service, having never missed a day of work during this time. He enjoyed fishing, Washington Redskins football, Atlanta Braves baseball and NASCAR racing. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife of 45 years, Katherine "Kitty" Blythe Denson; a daughter, Angela Kathryn Denson of Franklin; six sisters, Mary D. Coburn, Estelle Dundalow and her husband, Pete, and Barbara Cottle, all of Franklin, Bertha McCready and her husband, George, of Portsmouth, Betty Eason and her husband, John, of Littleton, N.C., and Christine Blythe and her husband, Marion, of Suffolk; a brother, Roy Timothy Denson and his wife, Emma, of Franklin; a brother-in-law, Thomas Supernaut of Chesapeake; and a host of nieces and nephews. Besides his father, he was predeceased by two sisters, Gloria D. Supernaut and Nancy L. Denson. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Southampton Memorial Park with the Rev. Howard L. Vinson Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence, 147 Bobwhite Lane, Franklin.
