Mrs. Day was born in Franklin and was a member of High Street United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Mary Washington College. She was a charter member and past president of Franklin Woman's Club. Survivors include her husband, Maxie R. Day; two daughters, Maxine D. Hollowell of Franklin and Susan D. Delk of Richmond; two sons, Mayor M. Rice Day Jr. of Franklin and L. Whitley Day of Richmond; her stepmother, Mary W. Parker of Franklin; a sister, Lucille W. Lankford of Franklin; and nine grandchildren. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Poplar Spring Cemetery by the Rev. John A. Siegle and the Rev. Robert D. Fridley. Wright Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the church or to the Children's Center of Franklin.
