   SUFFOLK  Gerard Challis Dawson, a resident of Suffolk and New York City, died July 15, 2002 in St. Vincents Hospital in New York.
   He was the son of the late Dr. Challis H. and Yvonne Dienne Dawson. He was born in Neuilly-Sur-Seine, Paris, France. Mr. Dawson was educated in Suffolk public schools and graduated from Suffolk High School, Class of 1944, and Harvard University, Class of 1948. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from Tiffany and Co. Jewelers, after 30 years of service.
   A graveside memorial service will be held in Cedar Hill Cemetery Saturday at noon by the Rev. Michael D. Halley. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Suffolk Nansemond Historical Society, P.O. Box 1255, Suffolk, VA 23439 or the American Cancer Society, 604 Constance Woods Drive, Suffolk, VA 23434. R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
