Obituary of Virginia "Si" Bristow Davis VIRGINIA BRISTOW DAVIS Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - September 17, 2003 Virginia "Si" Bristow Davis, 93, widow of Norman Leroy "Lee" Davis, died Sept. 16, 2003 at the East Pavilion. A native of Franklin, she was a daughter of the late William Orlando and Kitty Bryant Bristow. She was valedictorian of the 1927 class of Franklin High School, attended Sweet Briar for one year and then returned to Franklin and graduated from the Euphradian Institute of Franklin. Si was a retired secretary and treasurer of Bristow Insurance Co. and a member of High Street United Methodist Church. An excellent bridge player, she was a member of the Poor Working Girls Bridge Club and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Davis (Ginger) Britt and husband, Grady and Margaret Davis (Pixie) Gibbs and husband, Phillip, all of Franklin; three granddaughters, Katharine Britt and husband, John, Virginia G. (Ginny) Turner and husband, Chris, all of Franklin and Gretchen G. Elsass and husband, Jarrod of Suffolk; and five great-grandchildren, John Graden Britt III, Edward Janney Britt, William Davis Britt, Haylee Virginia Turner and Brandon Christopher Turner. She was predeceased by two sisters, Katharine B. Whitfield and Nelle B. Pillow and a brother, William O. Bristow Jr. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Poplar Spring Cemetery with the Rev. Linda Alvis and the Rev. Nancy Redding officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home and other times at the home of Ginger and Grady Britt, 117 Verna St., Franklin.
