Obituary of LUCY ELLA WHITEHEAD DAVIS Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, February 22, 1996 Lucy Ella Whitehead "Honey" Davis, 78, of Southampton Parkway, died Feb. 21, 1996, at Southampton Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Davis was a lifelong resident of Southampton County and was the daughter of the late Jordan Thomas and Laura Virginia Vaughan Whitehead. She was the widow of William Richard Davis Sr. Mrs. Davis was a member of Vincent's Grove United Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Virginia D. "Ginger" Lacasse and Nancy D. Brock and her husband, Edward; a son, William R. "Bill" Davis Jr. and his wife, Margie; a sister, Eleanor W. Whitehead and her husband, Bradford, all of Courtland; a nephew, H. Bradford Whitehead Jr. and his wife, Marsha, of Richmond; seven grandchildren, Amy E. Lacasse, Laura Gail Lacasse, Kendall L. Brock, Jason W. Brock, William Paul Davis, Kevin Michael Davis and Benjamin Kelly Davis. Mrs. Davis was predeceased by a brother, Leslie Vaughan Whitehead. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Riverside Cemetery by the Rev. Louis Martin and Dr. Reginald Warren. The family will receive friends at the home of Nancy and Edward Brock at 26338 Shady Brook Trail, Courtland. Wright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
