DAUGHTREY Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, August 15, 2002 Betty "Jean" Holland Daughtrey , 75, of the 1000 block of MacArthur Drive, died Aug. 13, 2002, at Obici Hospital. A native of Nansemond County, she was the daughter of the late Mills Harry Holland and Mary Odell Fanney Holland. She retired as a clerk with the Virginia Department of Transportation and was a member of Wilroy Baptist Church. She was the widow of James Porter Daughtrey Jr. and was also predeceased by a brother, Mills Harry Holland Jr. She is survived by a son, James Porter Daughtrey III of Newport News; granddaughter, Sara K. Daughtrey of Bloxom, Va.; brother and sister-in-law, Richard W. and Carolyn Holland of Suffolk; sister and brother-in-law, Martha H . and Guy Schultz of Norfolk; and sister-in-law, Virginia Ann Kues of Smithfield, Va. A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Wilroy Baptist Church by the Rev. Carter Dey with burial in Holland Cemetery. Friends may join family today from 7 to 8 p.m. at Harrell & Hill Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
