Obituary of Margruette Leathers Cutchin MARGRUETTE L. CUTCHIN Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - March 7, 2003 Margruette Leathers Cutchin was born in Windsor, Va., April 2, 1906 and died in Franklin March 6, 2003. She was a daughter of Rosa Boone Leathers and Fred T. Leathers. She attended school in Windsor and went to college at Hollins and Mary Washington College. Margruette taught school for several years until she married Carlton L. Cutchin in Franklin, joined the Franklin Baptist Church and taught Sunday school. Mrs. Cutchin loved working in her yard, and raised outstanding roses and pansies which were admired by her friends and neighbors. She was a member of Southampton Garden Club and loved to arrange and display flowers. Margruette is survived by her son, Carlton L. Cutchin Jr. and wife, Barbara; two grandchildren, Carlton L. Cutchin III and wife, Jackie and Margaret O'Donnell and husband, John; two great-granddaughters, Carlee and Ann Manning Cutchin; and a special friend, Mabel Johnson. A funeral will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Dr. Ira D. Hudgins officiating. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery . The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Franklin Baptist Church, 208 N. High St., Franklin, VA 23851.
