Obituary of Louise Clemintine Whipple Croumie LOUISE CLEMINTINE WHIPPLE CROUMIE The Tidewater News - 04-21-2005 SEVEN SPRINGS, N.C. - Louise C. Croumie, 86, died April 14 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Goldsboro, N.C., after a brief illness. Mrs. Croumie was born June 29, 1918, in Winchester, N.H., to the late Joseph Whipple and Emma Raynor Manning Whipple. Mrs. Croumie worked for many years at Peerless Insurance Co., Keene, N.H., before moving to Virginia in 1969. There she worked in Washington, D.C., and Arlington, doing secretarial work. She and her late husband were house parents to Ohio State students in Columbus, Ohio, in the early 1980s. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post No. 4411, past president and member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Women of the Moose. Mrs. Croumie is survived by three daughters, Joyce Bryant of Jaffrey, N.H., Judy Reynolds of Suffolk and Rita Merrifield of Keene; two sons, Richard Croumie Jr. of Peterborough, N.H., and Gerald Croumie of Milford, Mich.; 22 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Her husband of 54 years, Richard Croumie Sr., died in 1992. Two sons, Michael Croumie, died in 1981, and Charles Croumie in 2004. Her two brothers and five sisters died earlier. Services will be held April 23 at 2 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin.
