Obituary of John Paul Creason JOHN PAUL CREASON Virginian Pilot 27 Dec 2005 p B7 ZUNI - John Paul Creason , 80, died Dec. 25, 2005, at Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg. Born in Sand Springs, Okla., he was a son of the late Paul and Marie Wood Creason . He joined the Navy at 17 and served in the South Pacific during World War II. Mr. Creason retired from the Virginia State Water Control Board (DEQ) and after retirement, helped his sons in their business at Creason and Sons Well Service. He was a member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church. Mr. Creason is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Upchurch Creason ; two sons, Olen Paul Creason and wife Kathy and John David Creason and wife Betsy, all of Wakefield; a sister, Teresa Fincannon; and a brother, A.R. Houghbaugh, both of Grove, Okla.; four grandchildren, Felicia and Paul Thomas Creason and John Paul and Rebecca Creason ; and one great-grandchild, Karlie Elizabeth Mobley. Mr. Creason was predeceased by a sister, Louise. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Tucker Swamp Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Rob E. Edwards officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence and suggest memorials be made in memory of Mr. Creason to his church, 37527 Seacock Chapel Road, Zuni, VA 23898.
