Born in Bennettsville, S.C., Mr. Covington was a son of the late Lewis E. and Lizzie Pearce Covington. He and his late wife, Virginia Burgess Covington, were longtime residents of the Hunterdale area of Southampton County. Mr. Covington was an Army veteran of World War II and was retired from the city of Franklin. He was a former member of the Hunterdale Ruritan Club and a member of the Flag Tail Hunt Club. Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth C. Weeks and her husband, John, of Oak Hill, Va.; a son, Harold B. Covington Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Capron; a sister, Retha C. Kitchen of Yale, Va.; and three grandchildren, Jill Weeks of Columbia, S.C., Jennifer Weeks of Denver, Colo., and Matthew B. Covington of Capron.
