Obituary of NORA BRITT COUNCIL Virginian Pilot 26 Nov 1992 p D5 Nora Britt Council, age 91, a resident of Zuni, died on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1992, at Southampton County Memorial Hospital, Franklin. Mrs. Council was a native of Southampton County and was the daughter of the late Yancey Pryor and Lillian Bowden Britt and the widow of Samuel Council. She was the oldest active member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church, Zuni, a member of the Women's Missionary Union and a former Sunday School teacher in the Youth Department at the church. She was retired from Peebles Department Store, Walkefield. She had lived at The Village At Wood's Edge, Franklin, since 1991. She is survived by one sister, Helen Britt Fowler of Franklin; one niece, Theresa W. Harding of Buffalo Junction; and seven nephews, Bobby Worrell of Suffolk, Harold Britt of Waverly, Alpha Cobb of Suffolk, James R. Cobb of Windsor, McCoy Fowler of Franklin, Bobby Fowler of Sedley and Wayne Fowler of Franklin. She was the mother of the late Elmer J. Council and sister of the late Pearl B. Worrell, Nannie Bell Britt, Ella Mae Cobb and Roger P. Britt. A funeral service will be held at Tucker Swamp Baptist Church, Zuni, on Saturday, Nov. 28, at 1:30 p.m. by the Rev. Steve Bradshaw and the Rev. J. Waverly Horne. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at The Village at Wood's Edge, 1401 N.
