Mr. Cook had served as president of Newsoms Farm Supply for over 25 years and was the owner of Marvin L. Cook and Son, Newsoms. At the time of his death, he was fertilizer manager of Southampton Farm Supply. He was a member and past deacon of Newsoms Baptist Church and had served as Sunday School superintendent and secretary of the Men's Bible Class. He was a former member of the Newsoms Ruritan Club. He was the son of the late William A. Cook Sr. He is survived by his wife, Betty Cutchins Cook; a daughter, Pamela C. Woodard of Severn, N.C.; a son, Kenneth W. Cooke of Newsoms; his mother, Lina Johnson Cook, and a sister, Hazel Mae Cook of Boykins; three brothers, W.A. Cook Jr. of Capron, Robert Randolph Cook and James Thomas Cook of Boykins; and three grandchildren, Lindsay A. Cooke, Kristen L. Cooke and Landon B. Woodard. The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in Newsoms Baptist Church by the Rev. Kenneth Williams. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Newsoms.
