Mrs. Cook was a native of Salem, Ala., and a former resident of Franklin. She was a member of Westwood Hill Baptist Church, Virginia Beach. She was the widow of Johnny Ford Cook. Survivors include two daughters, Sue Bryant of Chesapeake and Nancy Martin of Hobe Sound, Fla.; two sons, John F. Cook Jr. of Franklin and Alex Cook of Winston-Salem, N.C.; two sisters, Sarah Long of Opelika, Ala., and Mary Taylor of Salem; a brother, W.P. Jarrell Jr. of Salem; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, by the Rev. Jess Jackson and the Rev. James Camak. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
