Obituary of EDITH BAINES MILBURN COOK The Virginian-Pilot (Norfolk, VA) - Monday, September 26, 1994 Edith Baines Cook, 78, a native of Suffolk, died Sunday, Sept. 25, 1994, in a North Carolina nursing home. She was the widow of Marshall C. Cook and daughter of the late Rufus Lee Baines and Mary Sue Saunders Baines. Mrs. Cook was predeceased by her former husband, Joseph Milburn and son, Chris Milburn. Mrs. Baines was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Jo Daughtrey of Chapel Hill, N.C.; a sister, Mary Baines Hundley of Suffolk; four grandchildren, Heather D. Rabalais of Chapel Hill, Nathan Daughtrey of Greensboro, N.C., Melissa Milburn of Charlotte, N.C., and Joseph Milburn of Suffolk; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in Cedar Hill Cemetery by the Rev. Charles W. Thompson. The family will receive friends following the service at her sister's home, 130 North Street. Memorial donations may be made to Olin T. Binkley Baptist Church, Willow Drive, Chapel Hill, N.C. 27514.
