Vivian Babb Coggsdale, 77, died Dec. 23, 1997, in Courtland Health Care Center. 

Mrs. Coggsdale, a lifelong resident of Southampton County, was the daughter of the late Oscar Barnes Babb Sr. and Arlessie Gardner Babb and widow of Jesse Jenkins Coggsdale. She was a Baptist. 

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, JoAnne and Joey Hewett of Sedley; and a brother, Clinton Babb of Franklin. 

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, by the Rev. William Hawkins and the Rev. David Johnson. Burial will be in Southampton Memorial Park . The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Friday.
