Obituary of Dorothy Elizabeth Turner Cobb DOROTHY ELIZABETH TURNER COBB Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - July 27, 2003 FRANKLIN - Dorothy Turner Cobb, 86, died July 25, 2003, at the Courtland Health Care Center. A native of Isle of Wight County, she was a daughter of the late James H. and Cora Scott Turner and the widow of Clarence James Cobb. She was a member of Franklin Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Betty Cobb Taylor and husband, Ray of Independence, Va., and Susan Cobb Little of Franklin; a brother, H.M. (Minnie) Turner and wife, Mary Nell of Courtland; four grandchildren, James Edward Taylor, John Wesley Taylor, Dixie Lee Little and Sheldon Dean Little II; and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Cobb was predeceased by two sisters, Mae Dunlow Jones and Eleanor T. Hatch; and a brother, James H. Turner. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Sharon James and the Rev. Dr. Ira D. Hudgins officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Spring Cemetery . The family will receive friends at Susan's home, 417 Crescent Drive, and suggest memorials be made to Franklin Baptist Church, 208 N. High St., Franklin, VA 23851.
