 Edna Dixon Carter, 96, formerly of Port Norfolk, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2003 in Suffolk. 
Born in Kelford, N.C., Edna was the widow of James Robert Carter. She was a Baptist. 
She is survived by two sons, Robert R. Carter of Naples, Fla. and Earl W. Carter of Duck, N.C.; and seven grandchildren. 
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Snellings Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is handling the arrangements. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.snellingsfuneralhome.com.
