Obituary of Otis Linwood Carr OTIS LINWOOD CARR Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, September 20, 2000 Otis Linwood Carr, 86, of the 6600 block of Holland Road, died Sept. 18, 2000, in Southampton Memorial Hospital. Mr. Carr was born in Nansemond County, Va., and was the son of the late James Arthur Carr and Martha Bracey Carr. He retired as a self-employed farmer and also retired with the Nansemond-Suffolk Sheriff's Dept. after 10 years of service. He was a member of Holland Baptist Church, the Men's Bible Class, and the Men's Brotherhood. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sarah Hill Carr; sons and daughters-in-law, Linwood Craig and Marjorie Bagby Carr of Covington Va., and James Keith and Sue Carol Fisher Carr of Martinsville, Va.; grandchildren, Jesse Craig Carr, Mariah Louise Carr, Erin Elizabeth Carr and Matthew Woodward Carr; sisters, Virgie Carr Hedgebeth of Richmond and Eunice Carr Harrell of Norfolk; niece, Sarah Hedgebeth Wells of Richmond; nephew, Frederick Carr Harrell of Mechanicsville, Va.; and a great-niece, Anna Wells Skeen of Midlothian, Va. A funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed Sunday-Winters officiating. Interment will be in Holland Cemetery. Friends may join the family Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
