Obituary of MARY WASHINGTON WITheRS CARR The Virginian-Pilot (Norfolk, VA) - December 31, 1995 Mary Washington Withers Carr, 88, formerly of 425 N. Main St., died Dec. 29, 1995. A native of Suffolk, she was the daughter of the late Nathaniel Riddick and Mary Rosa Etheredge Withers, and the widow of Bertram Elvin Carr. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, Sinai Chapter 18. Mrs. Carr was the last child to be born in Riddick's Folly. Survivors include three nieces, Mrs. Ann Rollings Bock of Burke, Mrs. Mary R. Stevens of Purcellville, Mrs. Margaret Withers Allen of Westfield, N.J.; and two nephews, Robert W. Withers of Dayton, Ohio, and Nathaniel R. Withers of Richmond. She was predeceased by her daughter, Mary Withers Carr Martin. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in The R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Ben R. Duffey with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
