Obituary of Benjamin Marvin Carr BENJAMIN MARVIN CARR Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Monday, October 14, 2002 SUFFOLK - Benjamin Marvin "Bennie" Carr, 74, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002 in Obici Hospital. A native of Isle of Wight County, he was a son of the late Daisy Holland Carr and Crawley C. Carr. He was retired from the sheet finishing department of Union Camp after 36 years, and a retired farmer. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Audrey Anne Carr; one daughter, Lynn C. Harris and her husband Robert of Virginia Beach; a son, Cecil L. Carr and his wife Carol of Suffolk; four sisters, Dorothy Holland of Norfolk, Thelma Stephenson of Suffolk, Barbara Gray and Carolyn Duke, both of Franklin; two brothers, J.J. Carr and Louis C. Carr, both of Suffolk; three grandchildren, Tiffany D. DeJarnette of Suffolk, Kaitlyn Harris and Rudd Harris, both of Virginia Beach; a number of nieces and nephews; and a long time friend, Joseph C. "Punk" Bradshaw. Mr. Carr was predeceased by a brother, Cecil M. Carr. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Southampton Memorial Park with the Rev. David Jendrey officiating. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, and suggests memorials be made to Western Branch Baptist Church Life Center, Suffolk, VA 23434.
