Obituary of WILLIE LOUGHRIDGE BURROW The Virginian-Pilot (Norfolk, VA) - January 27, 1995 Willie Loughridge Burrow, 80, of Forest Pine Road, retired Chief of Police for the City of Franklin, died Jan. 25, 1995. Chief Burrow was born in Burrowsville, Va., and became a policeman for the City of Franklin on Dec. 19, 1939. He served in this capacity for six years and was appointed Chief of Police on Jan. 1, 1946. He retired from the police force on Dec. 1, 1972. He was a graduate of the FBI Academy, past president of the FBI National Academy of Virginia (1958), and a former member of the Franklin Lions Club. He was Episcopalian. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Dorothy Brett Burrow; three daughters, Patricia B. Whittington of Richmond, Barbara B. Martin of Ellicott, Md. and Janet B. Boyd of Franklin; three sisters, Marion B. Williams and Ruby B. McCoy, both of Prince George, Va. and Elizabeth Berryman of Surry, Va.; five grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
