Obituary of Hubert Harding Burgess HUBERT HARDING BURGESS Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Friday, January 2, 2004 Hubert Harding Burgess, 80, died Dec. 31, 2003, at Southampton Memorial Hospital. A native of Southampton County, he was a son of the late Clyde W. and Ella Coggsdale Burgess and the former husband of the late Syble Britt Burgess. An Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, Mr. Burgess attended Elon College, was a retired credit manager for Heilig-Meyers Furniture Co. and was a member of Hunterdale United Church of Christ. Survivors include three sons, Randy H. Burgess and his wife Ginny of Healdsburg, Calif., Rudy B. Burgess and his wife June of Richmond and Ronnie R. Burgess of Franklin; a brother, Clyde Burgess Jr. of Lakeland, Fla.; six grandchildren, Stacy Dalby, Jeremy, Elise, Kayla, Josh and Jake Burgess; one great-granddaughter, Briana Dalby; and a daughter-in-law, Esther Foster of Franklin. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Southampton Memorial Park . The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Wright Funeral Home.
