Obituary of ANNE REYNOLDS GRANT BURGESS The Virginian-Pilot (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, October 11, 1995 Anne Reynolds Burgess, 59, of 21313 Southampton Parkway, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 1995, at Southampton Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Burgess was born in Roxobel, N.C., and was the daughter of the late Johnny and Rena Burkett Reynolds. She was a former L.P.N. at Southampton Memorial Hospital and attended Vincent's Grove United Methodist Church, where she was a former children's Sunday school teacher. Survivors include her husband, Joseph Madison ``Jimmy'' Burgess Sr.; two daughters, Teresa B. Gibbs of Courtland and Jenny B. Bunn of Newsoms, Va.; five sons, Joseph Madison ``Joey'' Burgess Jr., Barry Dean Burgess, Perry Glen Burgess, Wyatt Dale Burgess and Todd Ramsey Burgess, all of Courtland ; two brothers, Benny Reynolds of Roxobel and Johnny Reynolds Jr. of Conway, N.C.; and eight grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday at Riverside Cemetery by the Rev. Derek Koolman and the Rev. Jim Smith. The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, from 7 to 9 p.m. today and they suggest that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Mrs. Ruth Petty, 116 Southampton Road, Franklin, Va. 23851, or the Capron Rescue Squad, Capron, Va. 23829.
