Obituary of Pauline Powell Bulls PAULINE POWELL BULLS Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - November 26, 2002 Pauline P. Bulls FRANKLIN - Pauline Powell Bulls, 93, a resident of the East Pavilion for the past five years, died Monday, Nov. 25, 2002. A native of Southampton County, she was a daughter of the late Samuel J. and Mary Raiford Powell. She was a retired clerk from Leggett's Department Store, a longtime seamstress, and member of the Home Demonstration Club for many years. She was the oldest living member of Black Creek Baptist Church, the T.E.L. Class, and a member of the WMU, serving many years as a leader of the Girl's Auxiliary. Survivors include three daughters, Anne B. Gardner and her husband Jesse of Franklin, Sandra B. Haynie and her husband Ray of Cape Charles, Brenda B. Tolliver and her husband Lee of Franklin; two sons, Charles I. Bulls and his wife Doris of Franklin, and Samuel W. Bulls and his wife Pat of Charlottesville; two sisters, Emma P. Branch of Franklin and Gladys P. Branch of Newport News; her twin brother's widow, Virginia Powell of Suffolk; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Bulls was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Charlie W. Bulls; five brothers, Paul, Raleigh, Earl, Hudson and Roy Powell; and a sister, Hilda P. Story. A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Black Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Greg Kitts officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
