Obituary of Ernest Walter Bryant Jr. ERNEST WALTER BRYANT JR. Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - July 12, 2001 Ernest W. Bryant Jr., 73, died July 11, 2001. Mr. Bryant was the son of the late Ernest Walter Bryant and Sadie Coggsdale Bryant and the husband of the late Juanita Guyton Bryant. He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church and had retired after 48 years from Union Camp as a machine tender on (NU)5 paper machine. He was in the Merchant Marine and was a union official of Local 1488. Survivors include a daughter, Betty Bryant Bowden and her husband, Bobby; a son, Walter Douglas Bryant and his wife, Debbie, all of Franklin; a brother, James Elliott Bryant and his wife, Carolyn, of Zuni; and three grandchildren, Dale Hundley Bryant, Matthew Daniel Bryant and Kristen Melissa Bowden. He was predeceased by a sister, Rose Bryant Vick. A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Steve Bradshaw officiating. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery . The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
