Obituary of Edna Bradshaw Bryant EDNA BRADSHAW BRYANT Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, February 4, 1998 Edna Bradshaw Bryant, 85, died Feb. 2, 1998, in Southampton Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Bryant was born in Newsoms, a daughter of the late Zolie Thomas and Sallie Drake Bradshaw. She was the widow of George Leroy Byrant Sr. A 1934 graduate of the William and Mary College, she was a former math teacher in the Southampton County School System and was a member of the Courtland United Methodist Church and its Ladies Bible Class. She is survived by a daughter, Martha Rowe B. Croft and her husband, Bob, of South Hill, Va.; three sons, George Leroy Bryant Jr. and his wife, Texie, and Thomas E. Bryant and his wife, Joanne, both of Courtland ; and Jerry R. Bryant and his wife, Beverly, of Franklin; a sister, Clara B. Railey and her husband, Russell, of Newsoms; three sisters-in-law, Alice Lee Vick of Newsoms, Eleanor Faircloth and her husband, John, of Ivor, and Eugenia Meharg of Richmond; 10 grandchildren, Jason Bryant, George Bryant, Shelly Fisher, Betsy Colvin, Michael Bryant, Patrick Bryant, Robin Croft, Kip Croft, Susan C. Scott and Kelly C. Bell; and eight great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in Courtland United Methodist Church by the Rev. Robert Parks with burial in Riverside Cemetery .
