Obituary of LEONE ROUNTREE BROWN Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - January 10, 1996 Leone Rountree Brown, 71, of 25076 Delaware Road, passed away Jan. 9, 1996, in Southampton Memorial Hospital. She was the only daughter of the late Millard and Hazel Rountree. She was retired from Union Camp after 39 years as a switchboard operator. Mrs. Brown was a member of High Street United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Franklin Chapter (NU)128 Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Franklin Pythian Sisters. She was a former member of the Franklin Business and Professional Women's Club. Survivors icnlude her husband, M. Kenneth Brown; a stepdaughter, Janet Marie Johnson and her husband, Bob; two stepgrandchildren, Ed and Rob Johnson of Herndon, Va.; a chosen daughter and son, Debbie and Mike Jackson; and two godchildren, Paul and Taylor Jackson, all of Franklin. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Hollywood Cemetery , Newsoms , by the Revs. Kenneth Williams, Milford Rawlings and Chester Brown. The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today and suggest in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Mrs. Ruth Petty, 116 Southampton Road, Franklin, Va. 23851, or the Franklin Rescue Squad.
