Obituary of Willis Everett Britt WILLIS EVERETT BRITT Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - April 13, 2002 SMITHFIELD - Willis Everett Britt, 70, died April 12, 2002, in Riverside Regional Medical Center, Newport News. Mr. Britt was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving in the Korean War. He was also a former member of the Smithfield Volunteer Fire Dept. and a member of Central Hill Baptist Church. He worked in the meat packing industry for 35 years at VW Joyner, Smithfield Packing and Gwaltney. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Leigh Elliott Britt; a daughter, Peggy Britt Crocker and husband Larry; a son, William Everett Britt and wife Amy; two grandchildren, Jessica Leigh Crocker and Kathryn Taylor Britt; a sister, Alma Britt and husband Narvie; a nephew, Frank Britt and wife Fredia. The family would like to express their appreciation to the doctors and staff of the Virginia Oncology Association for their help and support. A graveside service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Mill Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery, Ivor, with Dr. Donald R. Rhoton officiating. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8 p.m. in Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield.
