Obituary of Paul Harvey Brantley Jr. PAUL HARVEY BRANTLEY JR Daily Press (Newport News, VA) - March 10, 2005 Paul Harvey Brantley Jr., 75, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at his home in Ivor. Born Nov. 3, 1929, he was the son of the late Paul Harvey Brantley Sr. and Laura Riddick Brantley. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Frances Stephens Brantley. Paul served his country as a Captain in the United States Army Reserve, was a retired farmer, an avid hobbyist of model airplanes and ships; was a lifelong member of Mill Swamp Baptist Church where he served on the pulpit committee and had served on the Ivor Volunteer Rescue Squad for many years. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Mark Stephen Brantley and wife, Holly, of the Ukraine; daughters, Mary Lyn Brantley of Claremont, Va., and Susan Lyle and husband, Richard, of Ivor; five grandchildren, Crystal Lyle, Justin Lyle, Sean Lyle, Beau Brantley and Taylor Brantley. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at Mill Swamp Baptist Church, Ivor, Va., with the Rev. Jim Jones and the Rev. Mark Brantley officiating. Interment will follow in the Ivor Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mill Swamp Baptist Church Building Fund, 6329 Mill Swamp Road, Ivor VA 23866.
