Lemuel Alexander Branch, 75, of Rebecca Street, died April 5, 1993, in a hospital. 

Mr. Branch, a native of Franklin, was a Southampton County veterinarian for 14 years before becoming a circuit supervisor for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church, a charter member of Hunterdale Ruritan Club and an Army veteran of World War II. He attended Virginia Tech before graduating from the School of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania. 

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca M. Branch; one daughter, Patricia B. Birdsall of Gloucester; two stepdaughters, Donna E. Dunlow and Penny E. Gray, both of Courtland; one stepson, Daniel M. Edwards of Franklin; one brother, R.C. Branch Jr. of Rocky Mount, N.C.; two grandchildren, David Birdsall of Gloucester and Kathy B. Shorter of King and Queen Courthouse, Va.; and one great-grandchild. 

The funeral will be conducted at 2p.m. Wednesday in Franklin Baptist Church by Dr. Ira D. Hudgins, the Rev. Reginald Warren and Dr. Roy DeBrand. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home. 

Memorial donations may be made to the Hunterdale Fire and Rescue Squad.
