Obituary of Willie August Bradshaw WILLIE AUGUST BRADSHAW Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, February 27, 2002 Willie A. Bradshaw FRANKLIN - Willie August Bradshaw, 79, died Feb. 26, 2002, in Suffolk. Born in Southampton County, he was a son of the late Charlie and Annie Lee Johnson Bradshaw, and was the widower of Shirley Turner Bradshaw. Mr. Bradshaw was retired from St. Regis with 42 years of service, an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of Black Creek Baptist Church where he was a former deacon and usher. He was a member of Black Creek Hunt Club and a former Ruritan. He played a mandolin for more than 50 years and played with his musical group at churches and nursing homes. He was an avid saltwater and fresh water fisherman. Survivors include two daughters, LaVerne B. Lee of Franklin and June B. Old and husband, Paul, of Moyock, N.C.; a son, Jerry L. Bradshaw and wife, Julia, of Sedley; two brothers, Charles Bradshaw and Junious Bradshaw, both of Franklin; seven grandchildren, Jon, Jason and Michael Lee, Sarah and Forrest Old, Matthew and Justin Bradshaw. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Black Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Greg Kitts and the Rev. Steve Bradshaw officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, and other times at the home of Jerry and Julia Bradshaw, 31423 Unity Road, Sedley.
