Obituary of HERSEY CLIFTON BRADSHAW The Virginian-Pilot (Norfolk, VA) - July 26, 1993 Hersey Clifton Bradshaw, 85, a lifelong resident of Newsoms , died Sunday, July 25, 1993, in Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin. He was son of the late Cordie C. and Nettie Ferguson Bradshaw. He was a retired farmer and a former employee of Peanut Growers Co-Op Marketing Association, Franklin. He formerly taught agriculture to veterans at Southampton High School. He was a member and deacon of Newsoms Baptist Church, a member of the Newsoms Ruritan Club, and he was a member and past master of the Newsoms Masonic Lodge 128, was currently a member of the Courtland Masonic Lodge 85, and was past district deputy grand master. He was a 32nd degree mason, a shriner and a member of the Khedive Temple, Norfolk. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II. He was active in the Farmer's Market, Franklin. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Cooper Bradshaw; a daughter, Lois Elizabeth Bradshaw of Pakistan; a brother, Carl L. Bradshaw of Richmond; four sisters, Bertha B. Stillwell of Newsoms , Esma B. Worrell of Mechanicsville, Virginia B. Gibbs of Franklin and Myrtle B. Watson of Hampton; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Aaron S. Bradshaw. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 1993 at 11 a.m. in Newsoms Baptist Church by the Rev. Kenneth Williams. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery , Newsoms . Memorial donations are suggested to the Southampton Historical Society or to a charity of your choice. The family will be at their residence, 30261 Statesville Road.
