Obituary of Dr. James Alexander "Jim" Bradshaw JAMES ALEXANDER BRADSHAW Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Friday, February 24, 2006 JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Dr . Jim Bradshaw , 58, passed away suddenly Feb. 19, 2006. He leaves behind his wife Julie; children, Alyssa, 18, Evelyn, 6 and John, 4. Jim was born in Greensboro, N.C., was raised in a Quaker society while living and attending high school in Virginia Beach. He graduated from the Medical College of Virginia. Jim moved to Jacksonville in 1980 to continue his career practicing medicine at Shand's Jacksonville as the pediatric radiologist. He served on many boards and worked hard with Children's Miracle Network of Jacksonville. Jim loved golf and supported many charities such as the Rita Foundation and the Malivai Washington Foundation Annual Golf Tournament. Jim also loved to emcee the radiology Christmas party which he had done the past 20 years. Jim also loved gardening and many lucky people enjoyed fresh flowers brought to the hospital. Most of all, Jim loved his children. It was evident when he got home from work to hear his little one's yell "Daddee." He taught Alyssa how to do the puzzle Sodoku and liked to compete with her on how long the puzzle would take to complete. In addition to his wife and children, Jim leaves behind his mom, Evelyn; his sisters, Katie (Larry) Dwyer and Martha Adams; and a number of nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 6801 Merrill Road, Arlington at 1 p.m. Saturday. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held Tuesday in Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley, Va., next to his father.
