Obituary of Therman Rufus Blythe THERMAN RUFUS BLYTHE Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Saturday, February 20, 1999 Therman Rufus Blythe, 72, of Route 1, died Friday, Feb. 19, 1999, in his home. Mr. Blythe was born in Sedley, Va., the son of the late Emmett McKenny and Martha Lankford Blythe. He was a retired finisher in the lumber division of Union Camp Corp. in Franklin. He was a member of Eure Christian Church, the Suffolk Moose Lodge and had served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Surviving are his wife, Joan Eure Blythe; four stepdaughters, Judy Long of Branchville, Va., Shirley Coburn of Carrsville, Va., Linda Brown of Suffolk and Jackie Beale of Courtland, Va.; a sister, Daisy Johnson of Suffolk; three brothers, Ashby Blythe of Franklin, Sherman Blythe of Carrsville and Morgan Blythe of Courtland; 11 stepgrandchildren and a step-great-grandchild. A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Southampton Memorial Park , Franklin, by the Rev. Wayne Gardner. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, and all other times at the residence. Memorial contributions may be made to Eure Christian Church.
