Tazewell Julian ``TJ'' Blythe Jr., 84, died July 11, 2000.

Born in Southampton County, he was a son of the late T.J. and Annie Stieh Blythe . An Army veteran of World War II, he was a retired carpenter. He was a member of Bethel Friends Meeting, a charter member of the Burdette-Black Creek Ruritan Club, Purdie Masonic Lodge and the Black Creek Hunt Club.

Survivors include two sisters, Minnie Blythe of Franklin and Edith Senter of Virginia Beach; two brothers, Fenton Blythe of Richmond and Ocie Beale of Franklin; a special friend, Ruby Vaughan of Burdette; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service with Masonic rites will be held at 11 a.m. today in Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley. The family suggests that memorials be made to Bethel Friends Meeting c/o Mrs. Mary White, P.O. Box 116, Franklin, VA 23851. Wright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
