Obituary of SWEETIE LEE BLYThe BLYThe The Virginian-Pilot (Norfolk, VA) - January 11, 1994 Sweetie Lee Blythe, 102, of Country Club Road, loving mother and grandmother, died Monday, Jan. 10, 1994, in Southampton Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Blythe was the daughter of the late Jessie and Mary Jane Munford Blythe and was the widow of Charlie M. Blythe. She was a lifelong resident of Southampton County and was the oldest member of Hunterdale United Church of Christ and a charter member of the church's Woman's Fellowship. Survivors include one son, Carey H. Blythe of Franklin; six daughters, Virgie B. Harrison of Norfolk, Vina B. Overby and Lola B. Bass, both of Courtland, Janice B. Hollowell of Franklin, Claris B. ``Tab'' Graham of Portsmouth and Doris B. Holt of Lugoff, S.C. She was predeceased by five of her children, Shirley B. March, Charles M. Blythe, Edgar Blythe, Stella B. Richardson and Margaret B. Wilson. Other survivors include a half sister, Aldine B. Duck and a half brother, Jessie de Bordnave Blythe, both of Suffolk; three daughters-in-law, Marjorie Blythe, Hilda Blythe and Rosa Blythe; and one son-in-law, Fenton B. Holt; 38 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Hunterdale United Church of Christ by the Rev. James X. Camak and the Rev. Wayne T. Blythe. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
