Obituary of Marie Johnson Blythe MARIE J. BLYTHE Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - February 5, 1999 Marie Johnson Blythe, 77, passed away peacefully Feb. 4, 1999, at her residence at 402 Fourth Ave. Mrs. Blythe, a native of Southampton County, was the widow of D.C. Blythe and was a daughter of the late Eugene Thomas and Daisy Mulder Johnson. She was retired from Blythe Dodge where she was a partner with her husband. Mrs. Blythe was a longtime member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and a member of the Beaver Dam Senior Citizens. Mrs. Blythe lived for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include a daughter, Jean B. Outland of Carrsville; three sons, D.C. Blythe Jr. and his wife, Phyllis, of Franklin, Michael L. Blythe and his wife, Bonnie, of Smithfield and Bruce T. Blythe and his wife, Renee, of Courtland; a sister, Margaret Rountree of Handsom; nine grandchildren, Carol Daniel, Carl Outland, Tara Williams, Chris Blythe, Brandon Blythe, Loren Blythe, Adam Blythe, Ryan Blythe and Jordan Blythe; three great-grandchildren, Lyndsay Outland, Taylor Outland and Kaitlyn Daniel; and two step-grandchildren, Ashley and Jennifer Lee. Mrs. Blythe was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph E. Johnson and Eugene T. Johnson Jr.; and three half-brothers, Harry, Linwood and William Johnson. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Beaver Dam Baptist Church by the Rev. Dr. Richard L. Peerey. The burial will be at Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and suggests that memorials be made to the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters, 601 Children's Lane, Norfolk, Va. 23507.
