Obituary of Earving Calvin Blythe EARVING CALVIN BLYTHE Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Sunday, November 10, 2002 FRANKLIN - Earving Calvin "Smut" Blythe, 77, died Nov. 9, 2002, at his home. A lifelong resident of Franklin, he was a son of the late Clifton Clarence Blythe Sr. and Annie Betty Edwards Blythe. He was a retired supervisor with Union Camp Corporation and a charter member of the Franklin Jaycees, a former district commissioner for the Cub Scouts, a member of the Knights of Pythians, and AARP. He was a member of High Street United Methodist Church and an office assistant. Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Eunice Drewry Blythe; a daughter, Kathy Fenwick and husband Charles; three sons, Earving Lee Blythe and wife Betsy, Wayne Blythe and wife Beth and Newitt Blythe; a sister, Frances Holt; a brother, the Rev. Clifton C. Blythe Jr. and wife Edna; seven grandchildren, Drew Blythe, Carrie Blythe, Melissa Blythe, Charles Fenwick III, Dillon Blythe, Sara Fenwick and Harrison Blythe. He was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Blythe. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Linda Alvis officiating. Burial will be in Southampton Memorial Park .
