Survivors include three daughters, Alice Faye Britt of Wakefield, Patricia B. Ellis and Glenda B. Smith, both of Suffolk; three sons, William R. Benton and Marvin E. Benton, both of Windsor, David E. Benton; a stepson, Isaac M. "Ike" Benton of Whaleyville; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Elizabeth M. Carr Darden and Mills William Darden. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday by the Rev. Carter Dey in Harrell Funeral Home, Suffolk. Burial will be in Windsor Cemetery . The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8 p.m. and other times at the home of the daughter, Patricia Ellis, 108 Lakewood Drive, Suffolk.
